A Day in the Life at West End House Girls Camp
At West End House Girls Camp, each day is thoughtfully structured to balance fun, personal growth, creativity, and community. From the moment campers wake up in the morning to lights out at night, they are engaged in meaningful activities that help them build confidence, form lasting friendships, and create lifelong memories.
Here’s what a typical day looks like at camp:
8:00 AM – Wake Up
Campers start the day with the sounds of nature and the buzz of excitement for what’s ahead. Cabins rise together and get ready for a full, fun day.
8:30 AM – Breakfast
We gather in the dining hall for a hot, hearty breakfast. Meals are nutritious, kid-friendly, and always include options to meet dietary needs.
9:00 AM – Camp Kapers
Everyone helps keep camp clean and beautiful with “kapers,” or daily chores. These short, community-minded tasks teach responsibility and pride in our shared space.
10:00 AM – Activity 1
Campers dive into their first scheduled activity of the day—from arts & crafts to archery, dance to drama, or time at the waterfront.
11:00 AM – Activity 2
Another exciting round of activities! Campers rotate through different experiences each day, building new skills and exploring their interests.
12:15 PM – Lunch
A favorite time of day! Campers and staff enjoy lunch together, filled with laughter and delicious food.
1:00 PM – Rest Hour
A quiet break in the day to relax, read, write letters home, or just recharge in their bunks.
2:00 PM – Activity 3
Back to the fun! Campers return to their chosen programs or try something new.
3:00 PM – Activity 4
The last activity period of the day wraps up the afternoon with more creativity, adventure, or exploration.
4:00 PM – Free Time
Campers can choose how to spend this time— playing games, hanging out with friends, or enjoying the waterfront under staff supervision.
5:00 PM – Cabin Time
Cabin groups reconnect to reflect on the day, clean up, and prepare for the evening.
6:15 PM – Dinner
Our evening meal is full of great food and good cheer!
7:00 PM – Evening Program
Each night brings a new surprise—from campfires to talent shows, counselor hunts to dance parties. Evening Programs are a camp highlight that brings the entire community together.
9:00 PM – Taps
Campers wind down and return to their cabins for bedtime. After a full day of activity and joy, lights go out and the camp settles in for a restful night under the stars.
